Job Summary

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a part of the Department of Defense (DOD)and the JETS contract is in support of the DLA Information Operations J6, it is the Agency’s knowledge broker, providing comprehensive, best practice Information Technology (IT) support to the DOD and DLA Business Community resulting in high quality information systems, customer support, efficient and economical computing, data management, electronic business, and telecommunications services.

Responsibilities and Duties

Daily activities:

The qualified applicant will have relevant leadership experience of leading teams of IT professionals. We are looking for a candidate who has a track record of progressively higher responsibility within an IT organization. This candidate should have a working knowledge of most aspects of Information Technology to include the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Engineering and Architecture principles, an understanding of servers and systems engineering and administration, network devices and their operation, Information Assurance and cyber security, and service desk operations. BMA is looking for candidates who understand the Government client and their fast-paced, mission focused needs. Because of the nature of DLA business being a distributed model, the qualified candidate will have successfully worked with virtualized teams, either CONUS or OCONUS. The Task Order Project Manager will be required to work with a contracting representative from the government and therefore should have a solid understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) guidelines and contracts administration.

Roles and team dynamics:

The Task Order Project Manager will be a full-time, direct hire for BMA and will be working on the DLA JETS program; this is an offsite position.

Qualifications and Skills

Serious applicants must possess:

  • 5 Years of relevant IT Leadership experience
  • Government-issued security clearance or ability to qualify for one
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • SDLC Management Experience
  • Knowledge of FAR and Contract Officer roles
  • Proven Planning and time management skills
  • Use of, and building RoadMaps
  • Schedules using MS Project
  • Strong Communication, both Written and Oral for formal reporting and ad hoc briefings to the customer
  • Cost and financial management experience
  • Must have proven experience with virtualized teams
  • Must have Acquisitions experience
  • Clearance Level: Secret or higher
  • BS or BA Degree

Desired Skills:

  • 10+ years of leadership experience
  • Use of Remedy or other ticketing system desired
