Job Summary:                Senior Network Engineer

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Designs, plans, establishes, and optimizes networks and enterprise network architecture.
  2. Develops network infrastructures and makes recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization.
  3. Provides technical assessment of requirements and definitions from conception through implementation.
  4. Trains and mentor other engineers.
  5. Designs and validates link performance, quality and reliability.
  6. Uses measuring and diagnostic tools to test and adjust equipment.
  7. Creates manuals and support documentation.
  8. Optimizes existing network by adjusting network parameters, adds/deletes neighbors and recommends possible solutions to hardware problems.
  9. Monitors and analyzes statistical and drive test data to improve system performance.
  10. Applies propagation theory, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory to choose device placement.
  11. Responsible for capacity planning, GSM frequency planning and frequency hopping by applying carrier/interference (C/I) ratio analysis.

Qualifications and Skills

Serious applicants must possess:

Must have a four-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.

Must have 8 years’ experience in wireless and network communications industry.

Must have a current DoD Secret Clearance

Must have a DoD 8570 certification IAT-I

Must have a Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) or equivalent certification.

Must have physical infrastructure experience.

Must have project team, lead and management experience.

Strong planning skills, with an ability to design, develop and deliver high-quality plans created through collaboration.

Experience with communicating between Government customers, executives and senior leadership, and support management and staff.

The designer must have recent experience in the design of voice and data communications systems, audio visual systems, electronic security systems, and/or other Information Transport Systems.

Applicants must be self-motivated, enjoy a collaborative environment and be proficient in MS Office
