Army University Press Editor
BMA is looking for an experienced editor to join its future effort in support of the Army University Press. Services include editing (copyediting of manuscripts, editing of images, layout of manuscripts in desktop publishing software), interacting with and advising authors, participating in planning and production meetings, rendering weekly and monthly progress reports.
Required/Desired Skills include:
Three years’ experience editing manuscripts, compilations, and articles.Editing experience with military publications is a discriminator
Highly proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Highly proficient in InDesign (for laying out the document)
Highly proficient with PhotoShop (for preparing photos to import into the layout); and Adobe Illustrator (for charts and maps, especially those composed in PowerPoint, to import into the layout
Highly proficient in Adobe Acrobat Professional to create .PDF versions of manuscripts used to distribute, and for downloading off the Army University Press website.
A BA in English or English concentration is preferred. Editing experience is a suitable substitute for the English major/concentration.

Candidate must be prepared to begin work o/a 29 September 2017. This position is contingent upon contract award.
