Position Description: Project Manager

Location: National Capital Region (NCR)

Employment Category: Full Time / Exempt

Travel: As directed

Security Clearance: Must have a DoD issued Secret Clearance


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, Master’s degree preferred

Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, other recognized academic project management certification

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience

Salary: Negotiable based on experience, education and qualifications.


Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.

Directs contractor resource teams and reviews work products for completeness and accuracy to customer requirements.

Provides communication to the team, Government PMO and the COR to review project plans, status reports, and deliverables.

Develops overall project milestones and monitors the execution of the project against planned time lines.

Directs and reviews program plans, status reports, and deliverables with Government leaders and project teams.

Provides technical and functional management to one or more project teams for specific projects or sub-tasks.

Project management of technically and functionally diverse IT task orders.

Collaborates with all areas affected by the project.

Develops, maintains, and briefs the project Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).



Must have a four-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.

Must have 10 years’ progressive Information Technology project management experience.

Must have a current DoD

Must have a current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or other recognized academic project management certification

Experience managing custom interfaces and reports to DOD or other similar agency. 

Experience leading teams (2-20 persons).

Experience ensuring Information Technology plans were developed in accordance with established standards.

Experience with communicating between Government customers, executives and senior leadership, and support management and staff.

Proficient in MS Office (Access, Excel, Outlook PowerPoint, Word), Visio and SharePoint

Strong oral and written communications skills

Strong planning skills, with an ability to design, develop and deliver high-quality plans created through collaboration

Strong problem resolution skills

Strong financial acumen with proven ability to connect the linkages between performance, schedule, and cost to determine benefits, return on investment, and risk.
